Install Openfire Chat server with Active Directory Authentication

Once installed active directory and open fire chat server.

Do below settings in openfire chat server.

1. Download openfire latest version.

or

Download it from :

http://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/download-landing.jsp?file=openfire/openfire-4.0.1-1.i386.rpm


2. Installed it.

rpm -Uvh openfire-4.0.1-1.i386.rpm

yum install glibc.i686

service openfire start / restart

Once Installed openfire successfully then :

http://server-ip:9090/            

Browse it and install GUI based.

Language Selection - English
Server Settings
Database Settings : Embedded Databases


Use below settings while installation for LDAP / Active Directory Integration in Open Fire Chat Server:


Directory Server (LDAP) - Integrate with a directory server such as Active Directory or OpenLDAP using the LDAP protocol. Users and groups are stored in the directory and treated as read-only.

LDAP Settings

For Linux Ldap Server Integration :

Host ( AD Server IP )        :   10.20.30.80  
Port :                                 :   389
Base DN                            :  dc="example",dc="com"
Administrator DN             :  cn=Manager,dc=example,dc=com  
Password                          :  Ldap administrator Password.


For  Windows AD Server Integration :

Host ( AD Server IP )        :   10.20.30.80  
Port :                                 :   389
Base DN                            :  dc="example",dc="com"
Administrator DN             :  example\administrator  
Password                          :  AD Server administrator Password.



Here enter one active directory user name for openfire administrator.

Test Settings -> Save & continue --> save & continue --> Launch Admin Console

Login with admin user active directory
